Missing something

I use to have this routine in life. I remember those days when I would get up from my bed inside my room. Take my bath towel and my robe, head on to the bathroom, take a shower/bath and then brush my teeth. Then I would walk along Upper Session Rd., this is in Baguio by the way, to school. I would stop by Manang Mani, the person whom everyone who's studying/working in the university probably knows and buy pre-packed green mangoes. Then I would head on to my class, meet my one and only study partner, seat next to her and wait for the class to end. After which, I'd either head on to my study partner's boarding house or go to the nearest mall, stay there for a while to kill time and then head home.

Years passed quickly.Sometimes, even when you are just sitting still in a chair at your own home, the little things in life quickly but quietly passes you by. The last visit that I had in Baguio surprised me. The University was never the same, a lot of things changed, a lot of familiar faces gone. I couldn't find Manang Mani anymore, she use to have her little store by the University Entrance. When I got there, the store became a guard post. The path that I use to take when going to school had changed. Session road changed.Even my old apartment changed.

I never was the person who sticks to the tradition, never was a sentimental fool. But I just had to say this, that particular day that I went to Baguio, i wanted peace of mind and the familiar comfort it brought me then. When i got there, everything was gone. It was like being back to that dreadful day of my first day in my first year in Baguio alone. I felt like a stranger to the very town that housed me for 4 years. It was an awful feeling that crept within me.

I should say,I miss the old days. I miss my routine. I miss the Baguio that I knew. I miss the people I came to love and adore in Baguio.

salamat sa pagdaan sa bakuran ko..

your entry is full of nostalgia. it made me go back down to the memory lane where everything i think of would be exams, plates' deadlines, recitations and terror profs.. other than that, nothing more.

i agree, as well, to your comment on ligaw..
